Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements

is a nondestructive testing (NDT) for hull structures.

It is performed to ensure that global & local vessel strength is retained. Check internal condition and remaining thickness of a vessel. Ascertain all possible areas of concern in terms of thickness measurement and close up requirements for all types of vessels.

Thickness measurements can be obtained when the vessel is in or out of operation (pre-docking or dry-docking) and is performed by qualified inspectors. Preparation of accurate and reliable report based on information from measurements, which further used for designing and budgeting repair works.

Our technicians are highly experienced and qualified in this area of work as well as in many other related areas, such as: steel supervising, photo reporting, visual inspection, and pre-purchase inspection, steel weight calculation/estimation and others.

Underwater Inspection

Life Rafts Supply & Services:

Underwater ship inspections are a critical part of understanding total asset condition. It is important when trying to establish the condition of your vessel, whether in a pre-purchase scenario, or as part of a financing transaction, or prior to dry docking, that the submerged areas of the vessel are also checked for possible damage.

An underwater ship inspection entails qualified, class-approved, trained divers going below the waterline to check the submerged areas of the ship. This exercise enables the owners, managers and financiers to detect any problems and calculate the capital demands of taking remedial action, if required..

GMDSS & VDR servicing

Radio survey is a set of testing services provided for a vessel to verify and confirm its readiness and safety for navigation in the appropriate sea area. The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the SOLAS regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board.

After the Titanic disaster in 1912, the world’s community understood the necessity to bring maritime safety rules on the international level. IMCO (Inter-Governmental Maritime Consultative Organization) gathered and elaborated on the first International Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention in 1914. This convention had no luck to be applied because of World War I. In consequence, the SOLAS Convention was recast and updated in 1960 and 1974. Present days the consolidated redaction of 1974 with continuous amendments is in use.

Radio Surveys should be carried out in accordance with SOLAS Convention, reference is made to the “IMO Resolution A997(25) - Survey Guidelines Under the Harmonised System of Survey and Certification, 2007”.

Our company, through collaborating with partner companies, is able to carry out these radio surveys in accordance with this resolution.

We are able to carry out radio surveys for classes such as :

  • Bureau Veritas (BV)
  • American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
  • Korean Register of Shipping (KR)
  • Det Norske Veritas-Germanischer Lloyd (DNV-GL)
  • Lloyd's Register (LR)
  • Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK)
  • Registro Italiano Navale (RINA)
  • Indian Register of Shipping (IRS)
